Masala Namkeen

30 min 5 Main Ingredient: Sunreap Maida


Preparing: 30 min


For Dough

Sunreap Maida

2 cups

Sunreap Sooji – 1/4 cup

Baking Powder – 1/4 tsp

Sugar – 1/2 tsp

Yoghurt– 1/2 cup

Salt – to taste

Masala For Snack


1/2 tsp

Black pepper powder

1 tsp

Black salt

1 tsp

Roasted cumin powder

1 tsp

Powdered sugar

1 tsp

Red chilli powder

1 tsp

Step 1Take maida in a mixing bowl. Add rava, baking powder, sugar and salt. Combine well.

Step 2Add yoghurt and mix well. Knead to a smooth dough.

Step 3 Cover it with damp cloth and allow to rest for 3-4 hours. After the resting time you see the dough is more soft, moist and rises slightly.

Step 4Apply little maida to hands and knead well. The dough is now ready.

For Dumplings

Step 1Mix all the ingredients for masala in a bowl and keep ready. I had skipped the powdered sugar but it will give a sweet and tangy taste.

Step 2Take a portion of the dough and make a thin chapati.

Step 3Cut strips lengthwise and then cut horizontally to make rectangles. Repeat with rest of the dough.

Step 4Heat oil in a kadhai for deep frying. Now fry the rectangles on a low flame till golden brown.

Step 5Immediately sprinkle the masala when hot and mix to coat it well. Once it cools down

it's ready to serve
