Besan Dhoka Chaat

Ingredients

1 cup Sunreap Besan (gram flour)

2 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste

2 tbsp Cooking oil

1/2 tsp Heeng (Asafoetida)

1/2 tsp Ajwain seeds

1 tsp Salt

1 tsp Red chili powder

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

1/2 tsp Garam masala powder

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

2 tbsp Cooking oil (for dhoka)

2 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves (dhania patta)

1 Onion Cubed

1 Tomato Chopped

Lemon Juice

1 tsp Chaat Masala

Directions

Step 1In a large bowl take all the ingredients from besan to turmeric powder and mix nicely. Then make a stiff dough using less water. Divide in 5 to 6 portions. Make these portions a smooth flat disc using hand.

Step 2Take a pot and fill ¾ space of it with water. Cover and boil the water. When boiling take off the cover and slowly place all the besan dough discs in it. Boil uncovered for 10 mins.

Step 3 After 10 minutes, switch off the flame. Take out the besan dough with the help of a large spoon and keep it in a thali. Make sure all the water is drained.

Step 4After it is cool, cut each dough discs in 1-inch size cube.

Step 5Heat a nonstick pan and add 2 tbsp oil for frying.

Step 6When hot, add the Chopped Besan Cubes. Fry for 5-7 minutes.

Step 7Once done, take them out, cool a bit and transfer to a large bowl.

Step 8Add in the chopped tomatos, onions, coriander leaves, lemon juice, masala and adjust the salt accordingly

Step 9You are ready to serve.
